Furious DStv and GOtv subscribers in Nigeria surround DStv offices in Yenagoa in public protests; demand refunds for poor service and signal quality and service cuts.


Furious DStv subscribers and GOtv subscribers in Nigeria on Wednesday held a large public protest at MultiChoice Nigeria's various offices in Yenagoa, in Nigeria's Bayelsa state, surrounding MultiChoice Nigeria's premises and voicing their anger over poor signal quality, subscription problems, being cut off and demanding refunds.

According to Nigerian media reports angry DStv subscribers surrounded DStv offices in Kpansia, Opolo and Okutukutu in Yanagoa.

The furious pay-TV consumers demanded that MultiChoice Nigeria do something about the bad signal quality, blocking subscribers after they pay and renew subscriptions and asking why they're not compensated when they lose their signal over technical glitches.

A DStv subscribers Betty Sotonye said she could no longer cope with the bad DStv service and wants a refund. "I came here to renew subscription on Saturday but until yesterday, my family and I cannot watch DStv".

DStv subscribers Thompson Efe, said "Enough is enough of this so-called DStvpeople".

So far there's been no statement from MultiChoice Nigeria.
